What do you think of General Irwin McDowell? Was he suited for his job as commander? Was there any other pertinent choice for a commander of the army?
Secondly, what do you think of McDowell's victory cheers after taking Matthew's Hill, while confederates under Jackson formed on Henry House Hill and Johnston's reinforcements flowed into the area? Wasn't this against military protocol? (It seem many Union Generals didn't follow up on confederate demoralizations)
